Talk to a human person and set 3 goals

Fridays at Four is designed to be as simple and helpful for your creative process as possible. It really is just talking to someone once a week on zoom for 30 minutes, to set three small, attainable goals. This person is a peer, another person working on their own project. You’re there to be two humans in community, supporting each other (feels almost nostalgic doesn’t it?).

The reason for the timeframe is no one loves a long meeting. Talk about what you did the previous week and what you’ll do next week, then write it down; that’s it.

The idea is that there is someone out there that you’re directly accountable to for getting these things done. They’re not your boss or your partner, but someone who is in your life specifically to help you make the thing you want to make, and you’re there for them in the same way. We all need support, and this is where you’ll find it. If, on top of this call, you want to talk at other times, or meet up for coffee, that’s up to you. But trust us, it will help the longevity of your connection to keep this call short and to the point.

HAI your friendly AI

After your calls, you can go right out and chat with HAI (AI), in Slack. She already knows what you were planning in your call, so can help you get organized for the week. Think of her as a project manager/cheerleader/assistant. She’s there whenever you need help, for support both organizational and moral (we all need a bit of both).

Share with your community

Fridays at Four is more than a project managment support platform, it’s a community of individuals working on their dream projects. An important part of being in community is seeing what other people are working on for inspiration. We’ll reach out monthly for updates, and all are welcome. Whether it’s a snapshot of the painting you’re doing, a blurb about the new chapter of your book, or an update on how the construction on your new restaurant is shaping up. Even if it doesn’t seem like a big deal to you, it really is inspiring to other people to hear about others progress.

Don’t let that label stop you, and know that you’re not alone worrying about this. It’s something we’ve had to get over too.

Anyone who is creating is creative. You have a dream to put something into the world that wasn’t there before. That’s creating. You’re creative.

But I’m not creative!

It’s bound to happen sometimes. Just like in love, there’s someone for everyone, but everyone isn’t for someone. We ask that you give it a good try—talk at least four times—and if, after that, it doesn’t feel like it’s working, reach out and we’ll re-match you.

What if I don’t like my match?
